Closure of Atwater Exit on Highway 15 South Over the Weekend (February 4 and 5) and other road closures

We wish to inform you of the closure of Atwater exit (exit 61) on Highway 15 South during the day on Saturday, February 4 from 5 AM to 8 PM, as well as on Sunday, February 5 from 5 AM to 8 PM. This closure will allow for the lifting of the concrete barrier located near the federal section of Highway 15. During this period, road users are asked to take the Wellington exit (exit 60) on Highway 15 South.

Work during the day on the Bonaventure Expressway

Please also note that roadwork will be taking place on the Bonaventure Expressway during the day of Friday, February 3. This work will require closure of two of the three lanes of the Expressway toward downtown Montreal from 2 PM to 8 PM and the subsequent closing of two of the three lanes toward the Champlain Bridge from 8 PM to midnight. These closures outside of rush hours will allow for the removal of concrete barriers that had been installed along the central median as part of the roadwork undertaken over the last few months.

These closures could be postponed due to weather conditions and progress of the work.

NB : Note that steel repair work will be taking place underneath the Jacques Cartier Bridge at night from Friday, February 3 at 10 PM to Saturday, February 4 at 5 AM.

Thank You for Everything!

No work will be carried out on the Champlain and Jacques Cartier over the next few days. We remain in close contact with the MTQ to optimize the use of all lanes of the bridge as traffic trends. Some work under the bridge will take place this winter, however this work will be in preparation for the work that is scheduled next spring and it will not cause major closures.

We would also like to thank you for following on us on our blogs, Twitter, Flickr or YouTube. These networks allow us to inform you of the work that is carried out on each of our structures. To this effect, we invite you to read or reread our summary of the work that took place on the Champlain Bridge Corridor in 2011.

Thanks to these tools, we are able to keep you informed in an efficient manner and you also have the possibility to easily share our advisories with your family. For this collaboration and your ongoing support during our closures, we thank you!

2011 has been a very unique year and we realize, now more than ever, the huge challenges we face on our roads. The next several years will be particularly important in terms of the maintenance of structures in Quebec and, obviously, our Corporation will be at the heart of these challenges, as overseer of essential links between Montreal and the South Shore. Your collaboration will indeed be invaluable in helping us in the realisation of such important work. On our end, we will continue our efforts to keep you informed as efficiently and as regularly as possible concerning upcoming closures in order to help you plan your trips.

Communication will be a fundamental element in facing these challenges and issues and, we will continue to seek ways to improve and develop even better tools to keep you informed. Please do not hesitate to share any of your recommendations and ideas with us.

Thank you!
